Paul McCartney wrote “All My Lovin” back in July 1963 while shaving or on a tour bus, take your pick. McCartney himself said it was the first and nearly the only song he ever wrote where it began totally with the words. Of course, it was credited to Lennon-McCartney as all their songs were although most Beatles fans know who wrote what. John Lennon for instance wrote “Please Please Me.”
Anyway, nearly 50 years later, I came across this group of musicians performing it in the NYC subway with more than a little passion. I’ve seen these guys often on W. 4th Street and they make a habit of playing all the early Beatles songs and they play them well. Enjoy. I love watching the NYC commuters scramble for the train in the background. Want to know why NYC is great? Because you can’t find this in Cleveland!
