For years, Park Slopers have joked that items in stoop sales just move the junk from one brownstone to another and then back again. My wife can’t be the only person who’s purchased a baking item from a neighbor that she had purchased from us at an earlier stoop sale. And everyone knows that, if you wait until the end of the day, you can have pretty much anything at the stoop sale for free from lazy Park Slopers like ourselves who are loath to move everything back inside.

In recent years, with the advent of e-books, Park Slopers have taken to moving entire hard-cover libraries out to the curb. Take what you want, it’s free. I myself have also put out televisions, couches and even a desk — all for free. But I’ve never seen anything like this for sale — a kayak that must’ve been 12 feet long! Here are the photos to prove it and it was still there as of Saturday night on 10th Street between 7th and 8th Avenues.

That is really funny the way the kyak has been hung out to dry. If it were still out there on the stoop and I knew it would still be there when I arrived, I’d come out and pick it up myself. We have 2 Perception Kayaks and with 3 children, we sure could use one more!
